Will Burns
Will was born in London and raised in Buckinghamshire. He didn’t finish his English degree, choosing instead to start an ill-fated band with his brother. He has worked in factories, cleaning windows, painting houses and the best record shop on earth. He likes sports and ornithology and is proud to be Poet-In-Residence at Caught By The River. He was named as one of the four Faber & Faber New Poets for 2014 and the accompanying pamphlet of his work was published that year. His first full collection, Country Music, was published by Offord Road Books in 2020. His debut novel The Paper Lantern is forthcoming from W&N and was highlighted in The Observer Review as one of the debuts of 2021.
“However slight and deceptively simple Burns’ poetry may appear, those who drink deep will be rewarded by its quiet intelligence and subtle ways of seeing.” – The Guardian
'Will Burns is a soulful English poet of the kind we don't make enough of' Max Porter
