Alice Stevenson
Alice is a London-based illustrator, artist, surface pattern designer and educator. Her work explores and visualises ideas and narratives through playful treatment of colour, texture and composition. Alice has been commissioned by a wide range of international clients.
Alice's book Ways to Walk in London: Hidden Places and New Perspectives was published in 2015 by September Publishing. It is an inspiring collection of walks, notes and artworks, revealing London’s multiple layers and different moods.
Ways to See Great Britain was published by September Publishing 2017, explores the UK region by region, to find and walk the hidden gems of Britain (everything must be accessible by train and there's no hiking boots here; only battered Converse.) Inspired by her generation being priced out of city living and their shifting identities away from the 'nondescript' suburbs they're from, and what inspires Alice herself as a visual artist.
"A guerilla guide to weird and wonderful UK adventures... charts unusual ways to travel the country, focusing on a particular element for each place: from transport to architecture." - Elle Decoration
